POLYMERS:

Polymers are counter intuitive due to the low density for use as grinding media. However, if the product is low viscosity and shear thinning, it can be quite effective.  The 3 main benefits are 1) cause little to no damage on machine parts; 2) cause little to no contamination of product being milled; and 3) there are a lot of beads in 1 kg of material. Polymeric media offered by Grinding Media Depot is usually screened to remove fines and can be washed as well to remove odors. Various levels of purity can be offered but the media is not made for use in any specific industry.  Custom size distributions will be considered depending on volume.

Silicas

Silicas are one of the oldest materials for use as a grinding media.  They are still used where low viscosity, low temperatures, low wear rates on equipment and lower costs are required.
