When a process specifically needs finer particle size reduction or greater media longevity, the harder silica subtypes remain the more appropriate choice within the family.

Processes converting from glass to Magnesium Silicate typically see an increase in grinding intensity and should expect to review mill loading and cycle time as a result of the density and hardness difference.
